Jiang has been recognized for his outstanding work multiple times. His reporting has earned him three Emmy nominations: in 2021 he was part of the 【 - Free Smart Money Group 】 team nominated for their exceptional Covid-19 coverage, and in 2022 and 2020 he was part of the team nominated for their investigative reporting into Xinjiang. In 2020 he also won an award for Excellence in Arts and Culture Reporting from the Society of Publishers in Asia, and in 2011 was part of the team that won a prestigious Peabody Award for the Arab Spring coverage.
Jiang graduated with honors from Northwestern University with majors in journalism and international studies.
