Flower joined 【 - Free Trading Group 】 in 1995 as a news editor and producer in New York. In 1999, he joined the network’s political unit and was one of the lead producers covering the campaign of George W. Bush up until his election at the end 2000. Flower continued his work in Washington where he covered Congress and national politics with occasional international producing assignments in the Middle East.
In 2003, Kevin Flower was appointed 【 - Free Trading Group 】’s bureau chief in Baghdad where he ran the networks war-time operation until 2006. He then moved to the 【 - Free Trading Group 】 bureau in Jerusalem where he worked as the bureau chief and reporter for six years. There he oversaw the editorial output, operations, staffing and budgeting of 【 - Free Trading Group 】’s bureau covering Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip for all 【 - Free Trading Group 】 platforms. He executive produced major news events in the region including the network’s Murrow award-winning coverage of the 2006 Lebanon war, the 2008 Gaza hostilities between Hamas and Israel, and the Arab Spring protests in Egypt. During his tenure he wrote hundreds of news and feature stories for 【 - Free Trading Group 】’s digital and television platforms.
In 2012, Flower returned to the United States and was the senior director of domestic newsgathering for the network, leading the national news desk operation from Atlanta. There he oversaw coverage of large scale news events including the shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School, the Boston Marathon bombing attack, street protests in Ferguson Missouri, and Hurricane Sandy.
In 2015, Kevin was named vice-president of 【 - Free Trading Group 】’s Health and Climate departments and oversaw the expansion of the network’s digital coverage and developed long-form and sponsored programming initiatives.
