Activities 2015-16

The college has four NSS units and 450 volunteers were enrolled by the NSS units in 2015. The volunteers contributed their services to all the college events and worked ceaselessly for community service in various fields. Among the noteworthy activities of NSS are two Blood Donation Camps; survey regarding an equal distribution of food grain under the Public Distribution Scheme; a Tree Plantation Drive; Pulse Polio Immunization Camp; Cleanliness and Maintenance Drive at Herbal Garden etc. Our three NSS volunteers, Mohd. Fazil, Rahul and Hasan participated in a ‘National Adventure Camp’ at Narkanda, District Shimla, Himachal Pradesh and another NSS volunteer, Shreya Kapoor participated in a ‘National Integration Camp’ in Karnataka. Two of our NSS volunteers, Himanshu and Renu, participated in National Youth Festival, at Raipur. The volunteers undertook massive rallies to create awareness about community health and hygiene and participated in Cleanliness Drive, which was a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, at the adopted village, Ram Darbar. A ‘Dengue Awareness and Eradication Campaign’ was also organized at Ram Darbar. Two members of the Rotaract Club, Mr. Amarjit Singh and Mr.Sandeep Singh raised funds worth Rs.80,000/- and the sum was handed over by the Vice-Principal to Sarita, a student whose father is suffering from a cardiovascular disease.

  • 30/01/15:TALK on “Lala Lajpat Rai & Bhagat Singh : National heroes of Punjab” at Multi-Media Hall, PGGC-46, CHD.

SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS
  • 135 units blood in NSS blood donation camp was donated on 19 Aug.’15 for Govt. Medical College & Hospital, Sector-32 Chandigarh.
  • Approximately 1 lakh rupees and relief material for Jammu-Kashmir floods victims was collected.
  • BA III student, Rahul Anand & Rani Kumari participated in 10 day National Integration Camp at Jaipur, Rajasthan. (23rd to 30th Oct.’14)
  • NSS Rotract club affiliated to Internation Rrotary Club New York. America was established.
  • Organized a talk on Indian Constitution by Dr. S.P.Bansal vice-chancellor of Agarsen University Baddi, Himanchal-Pradesh.
    Overall NSS of the Post Graduate Government College, Sector-46 has done a commendable job.
