In current session the society has evolved well and had done noteworthy work in spreading the message of ills of substance abuse. Students participated in activities like making the people aware of their social responsibilities and helping them in character building by giving them exposure in various organizations and honing their self-worth, confidence, direction, morality. Various activities were held in groups such as:

  • In the month of July an orientation programme was held where students were made aware of the functions and the motives of the society by Power Point Presentation on Drug Abuse and Recovery.
  • In the month of August the students performed Street plays related to substance abuse/addiction and performances were staged in the College campus.
  • In the month of September a Message Awareness Programme was held within the College premises. The student volunteers put up their contact numbers on the College Notice Board and act as counselors in surrounding areas or wherever their help was required.
  • In the month of October, It was decided that we would seek the help of NGOs and Twelve Step Groups (Local Chapters of NA and AA) to deliver public awareness message in the College Campus. The student volunteers attended open meetings of Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholic Anonymous in Lajpat Rai Bhawan, Sector-15, Chandigarh and Carmel Convent, Sector- 9, Chandigarh would be continued so as to keep the students in touch with the reality of the possibility of recovery.
  • In the month of Dec.’14 & Jan.’15 the society had tie up with Rehabilitation Centers at PGI and Sector-23, Chandigarh to offer voluntary help suitable for the benefit of the recovering addicts.
  • In the month of February, drug awareness message was taken to the streets by the volunteers of our Society. They organized the screening of movies/films/documentaries on drug and alcohol abuse and also advised the effected families to help and understand the concept that addiction was a medically recognized disease which needed to be looked at into a different perspective as social ostracism is usually felt in it.
