The College library caters both to intellectual as well as the general reading needs of its reader in an ideal and reader’s friendly environment. The College library has at present a good collection of more than 39691 books upto Jan.’15. It is subscribing about 33 Journals, 50 magazines and 17 Newspapers.
Library Orientation Programme:

Organized for the Freshers at the beginning of the academic session from Aug.18-19, 2015, this programme aimed at educating the new students about the important role of the library in widening their mental horizon.

In order to bring awareness among the College students about the utility of the library and the benefits of reading a library orientation programme “Know your library” was organized for newly admitted students on 21st and 22nd August, 2014. It was organized in two parts, which included ‘Instructional’ under which guidelines and instructions on how to make the best use of the library services were given. Second part of this programme was personal contact programme in which all the students were taken round the library to acquaint them with the layout, setup and wealth of the library. Guidance was given with respect to the various methods that could be put to use to arrange and locate books using OPAC.


  • “Know Your Library” Book Exhibition was organized with an endeavour to make the students aware of the collection of books available. More than 650 students attended the programme.
  • An exhibition of books and clippings on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Lala Lajpat Rai was also organized.

The healthy tradition of organizing “Know Your Library” book exhibition was carried out. The objective of this exhibition was to make the students aware of library collection.


These visual bookmarking tools display current information on a variety of aspects related to health, career, religion, amazing facts, etc.

Audiovisual section of the library displays current information on various aspects e.g. information relating to health, career, religion, Amazing facts etc. Approximately, 450 students attended the programme.

  • On 31stOct.’14 Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Birth Anniversary was celebrated as National Unity Day. On this occasion a book exhibition was held and a large number of students visited this exhibition.


As a part of the Readers’ Motivation Programme, Book / Reference Hunting, Essay Writing, Book Covers Making, Slogan Writing and Collage Making competitions were organized from Jan. 27- 29, 2016. 53 students participated in these competitions.

As part of the readers’ motivation programme library department organized Book /Reference Hunting, Essay Writing, Book cover Making, Slogan Writing, Collage making from 26th to 28th November 2014. 37 Students participated in these competitions. Results of these competitions are as below:-
